Microsoft FRx Report Design Essentials I covers the basic report design skills you need to create, maintain and distribute presentation quality reports using Microsoft FRx.  It also includes coverage of additional functionality designed to help you create new reports, and distribute and analyze your company's financial information.  You will learn about basic foundational skills, complex calculations, drag and drop reorganization, rounding adjustments and account sets.

Course Objectives

• Learn basic navigation and report creation in Microsoft FRx
• Learn techniques to drill down, analyze, print and export from the FRx Drilldown Viewer
• Explore ways to efficiently create and distribute many financial reports including:

        Trial balances, Balance sheets, Transaction detail reporting, Trended, Side-by-side, Actual vs. Budget (favorable/unfavorable), Rolling quarters

• Examine tips and tricks for increasing speed and accurancy of month-end close
• Learn how to troubleshoot tough reports
• Create presentation quality reports
• Perform electronic distribution - including chaining, e-mail and sending reports to FRx WebView
• Understand security settings within Microsoft FRx
• Learn many ways to improve your company's financial reporting package

Microsoft FRx Report Design Essentials - II

Microsoft FRx Report Design Essentials II is a two-day class designed to help you gain complete control of your financial reporting process.  You learn how to create a comprehensive financial and management reporting package that includes non-financial information from Excel and how to create more complex reports such as statements of cash flow and those reports that require complex calculations.   

Course objectives:

·          Learn how to import non-GL information from external worksheets

·          Learn how to import data from spreadsheets

·          Create a variety of cash flow statements

·          Discover more efficient ways to perform consolidations and allocations

·          Create advanced income statement reports using multiple segments in the row format

·          Learn to rotate (expenses in column)

·          Relational Reporting (percentage of sales)

·          Learn advanced formatting concepts

·          Use Row Linking to speed up processing time and reduce maintenance requirements

·          Create complex calculations such as specific column placement and conditional statements

·          Create and analyze OLAP cubes using FRx instant!OLAP

·          Perform currency translations using Microsoft FRx Desktop (Optional)

·          Review currency translation using the FRx Currency Translation module (Optional)

·          Learn the basics of XBRL report design and output
