Experience
Mr. Larry E. Vangen has been with Hawkins, Ash, Baptie & Company, LLP since 1967 and an audit and accounting partner in the firm since 1970. He has been extensively involved with audits of nonprofit organizations, housing authorities, school districts, and other governmental entities, and commercial entities and provides financial and estate planning services for business owners, executives, and professionals.
Mr. Vangen worked two years with Ernst & Ernst, an international public accounting firm in their Milwaukee office, prior to joining Hawkins, Ash, Baptie & Company, LLP.
Education
Mr. Vangen received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1965. He became a Certified Public Accountant in Wisconsin in 1968, and was certified in Minnesota in 1975. He became a Certified Financial Planner in 1982 and a Personal Financial Specialist in 1996.
Professional Affiliations
Mr. Vangen has been an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and the International Association for Financial Planning, Inc. He is a former chairman of the Practitioners Report Review Committee of the WICPA, and is a past director of the WICPA Western Chapter. He has been involved in the peer review program of the AICPA Division for CPA Firms and has served as team captain on numerous peer reviews.
Mr. Vangen is the Treasurer and on the Board of Governors of the La Crosse Club, Ltd., and on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of La Crosse, Inc. and ORC Industries, Inc., and has served on the Board of the Greater La Crosse Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
